One of the paired posterior-most appendages of the body, which in Myodocopids is situated dorsal to the anus and is, therefore, considered to be a uropod, whereas in the podocopids in which the furcae are ventral to the anus they are considered to be a telson (see Kornicker, 1975 p.81).
