Genus Priontoleberis

Diagnosis
On the first antenna of the female the large sensory seta carries six long terminal filaments and a single short proximal filament. On the eighth segment a seta is either lacking or minute. Remarks
Kornicker, 1974 established this genus when redescribing Cypridinaceans from the Bay of Naples, separating it from other similar genera Parasterope, Synasterope and Diasterope. The type species is P. gyrion. Asterope norvegica, which had been reassigned to Cylindroleberis by Sohn and Kornicker, 1969, was placed in this genus by Kornicker, 1987. Another species assigned to Cylindroleberis by Cohen and Kornicker, 1975 has subsequently been placed in this genus as well.
