Müller, 1906
Diagnosis
Relatively elongate species, carapace with both posterior corners rounded (C. dorsotuberculata Habitus 1, C. dorsotuberculata Habitus 3). In ventral aspect, posterior region appears to be extended (C. dorsotuberculata Habitus 2, C. dorsotuberculata Habitus 4). Sculpturing throughout of fine longitudinal striations. The left asymmetrical gland opens on the dorsal margin almost at the mid-length. The right asymmetrical gland opens at the postero-ventral corner.
Female, frontal organ double length first antenna, capitulum is slightly downturned (C. dorsotuberculata 1). First antenna, the "e" seta proximally carries a row of fine hairs on its leading edge, there is a very short dorsal seta on the second podomere of the limb (C. dorsotuberculata 1).
Male, frontal organ, capitulum down-turned (C. dorsotuberculata 3). First antenna "a" and "c" setae only slightly shorter than the second podomere, the other terminal setae are subequal, "e" seta armature consists of 35-40 pairs of fine hair-like spines with 3-5 short, distally-pointing spines (C. dorsotuberculata 4). Beyond the armature the "e" seta is flattened but then terminates in a long hyaline needle point.
Remarks
Poulsen, 1973 attributes this species to Claus' genus Paraconchoecia, but the inclusion of this species makes the genus extremely heterogeneous.
