Müller, 1906
Diagnosis
Carapace elongate and tapering anteriorly (C. dentata Habitus 1, C. dentata Habitus 3). In ventral aspect the maximum breadth is just posterior of mid-length. Sculpture, three or four strong, parallel striae run from below the incisure to about 2/3's the length. The left asymmetrical gland opens near the postero-dorsal corner, right asymmetrical gland opens a third height on posterior margin.
Female, frontal organ is two and a half times the length of first antenna, undifferentiated but with capitulum region swollen, finely spinose and droops down (C. dentata 1). The first antenna, dorsal seta absent.
Male, frontal organ poorly differentiated, capitulum merely droops (C. dentata 3). The first antenna, "a" seta as long as the limb, spirally twisted, "c" seta is almost double length of second segment, "b" seta longer than "e" seta - a exceptional character (C. dentata 3). "e" seta armature about 19 pairs of blunt ended spines decreasing in size both basally and distally (C. dentata 4). Right second antenna endopodite with both "f" and "g" setae terminally flattened, hook appendage curves little beyond the basal right angle bend (C. dentata 5).
Remarks
Closely related to the larger C. cophopyga (not recorded from the region) which also has more carapace striations.
